The Surgical Service has recently undergone a series of staged re-developments of the surgical facility, now hosting state of the art equipment and facilities that would rival any private hospital.

Burwood now has a new operating suite housing 4 new theatres, an admitting Unit and a 1st and 2nd stage PACU.

It also has a new 30 bed Surgical Unit and a 12 bed Special Care Unit.

The Surgical Service provides a supportive environment to both staff members and patients.

Following a recent change in the Model of Care our service now provides a structured approach to educational development opportunities.

It also provides an in-depth orientation period for new staff joining our service.
