Alastair started his career by doing an undergraduate degree in biochemistry and cellular and molecular biology. He then did his medical degree in Dunedin and Wellington and his pathology training was undertaken at Hamilton and Christchurch. Alastair joined the Anatomical Pathology Department as a Consultant in 2003 and is developing an interest in neuropathology and renal pathology.
