STAFF INFORMATION
Matthew graduated from the University of Durham (UK) with a BSc Hons. in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry, 1998, and a PhD in Biochemistry, 2002. The main focus of his PhD research was enzyme chemistry and radiochemical assay development. Matthew worked as a Senior Research Associate, also at the University of Durham, from 2002-05 specialising in diagnostic proteomics, the creation of artificial neural substrates and developmental neurobiology. In 2005 he joined the Immunology group at Canterbury Health Laboratories as a Scientific Officer. He is responsible for improving patient testing in Immunology and co-ordinating apoptosis and cell-proliferation tests for a project with Christchurch Clinical Studies Trust. Research interests currently include the development of new tests for a variety of autoimmune conditions.
