Dr Mona Schousboe graduated in Denmark but shortly afterwards moved to NZ where she completed her specialist training gaining FRCPA (Microbiology) in 1980. Before coming to NZ Mona spent some time working in hospitals in Tanzania and India. She was medical head of Microbiology Department from 1986 to 2005. Her particular interests include serology, mycobacteriology, legionella infection and infection control. Dr Schousboe is also Clinical Director of Infection Control Unit. She has recently completed a Diploma in Public Health.
