Dave started his training in Southland after which he became a Staff Technologist in Biochemistry and later a Graded Technologist in Haematology. He then travelled overseas for seven years where he worked in various laboratories in the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia. Dave then returned to Christchurch in 1996 and took up a position in Haemostasis Laboratory and later became the Senior Technologist in this area.
