Turning research into practice: Professor Philip Darbyshire

Professor Philip Darbyshire, Chair of Nursing, Women's and Children's Hospital University of South Australia (Adelaide) says there is a desperate need for research to be welcomed into clinical practice and development. 

He will explain how this can be done at the 10th Biennial National Surgical Nurses conference to be held 5-7 November in Christchurch.

The conference theme ‘Tomorrow’s World Today- innovations in surgical nursing’ focuses on cutting edge advances within health care and health care delivery systems.

Professor Darbyshire said he will speak about how clinically based research can be adapted into practice and work areas.

"My keynote paper will be a clarion call I hope, to all nurses and especially clinicians who sometimes think and say that ‘I’m just a nurse’ – meaning, what can I do about research?”
