Dedicated Education Unit
Model of Clinical Teaching and Learning

Welcome to the Dedicated Education Unit (DEU) site. You can find out what a DEU is, the DEU Philosophy, what the key roles are, the locations of DEUs in the Canterbury Health system and the benefits of using the DEU model.

The DEU Working Group is made up of Nurse Educators from the Canterbury District Health Board and Nurse Lecturers from Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Techology. We promote the DEU model; support the existing DEUs and evaluate the experiences that students and staff have while working in the DEU model.
